My great-aunt gave me $180 for graduation so I've created an Amazon shopping cart that consists of $171 worth of books. Come graduation my parents are giving me $200 to spend on MORE books. Oh. Em. Gee. So. Every one of you recommend a book (fiction or collection of short stories) you love. Every single one of you. I mean it. Otherwise I will hunt you down and make you... write me an essay on why you didn't recommend me a book.
Julia Alvarez-In the Time of the Butterflies
Yann Martel-Life of Pi
shoot, I have a japanese dialogue to do. that sucks.
ahhhhh that is awesome. uhh. I dunno. read american gods by neil gaiman if you haven't already. and dorothy l. sayers rocks my socks for mysteries. gun with occasional music was a good book too, I got annoyed at the writing every so often but it was very interesting. I like to read jackie kennedy onassis biographies for fun?
i have to bring in your anne of green gables. or maybe i will hold it hostage so you have to see me this summer.
i would recommend...let's see...well you could buy a book of louise gluck's poetry, hehehe. uh...if you haven't read prep, i recommend prep. if you have, i recommend anil's ghost by michael ondaatje. or...like water for chocolate. or sister of my heart by chitra banerjee divakaruni.
